For more than 35 years I have been working with the diverse Communities in all the cities in Broward County, forming strong long-lasting partnerships with communities and business leaders. I was the President of the Latin Chamber of Commerce of Browars County for more than 16 years expanding the visibility and effectiveness of the Latin Chamber. Under my guidance the Latin Chamber received many mutually beneficial partnerships with businesses and municipalities in Broward County. For more than 13 years I served as a Board Member of Broward County Housing Finance Authority; also I was one of the founders of the City of Hollywood Hispanic Affairs Council, Latin Builders Association of Broward County, Hispanic Unity, Hollywood Beach Latin Festival - a family event that gathers about twenty five thousand people each year- In 2000, Bob Crawford Commissioner and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, named me in the Florida Division of Consumer Services as Council. The Council serves as the “watchdog” for consumers in the State, and in 2004, the city of Hollywood proclaimed August 16th as "Mr. Jose “Pepe” Lopez Day".
Since 2013 I am retired from Broward Sheriff's Office.
